Hyderabad: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday said the party was ready to extend necessary cooperation to the State government in controlling the spread of Covid-19 virus.

“Let us take up a united fight against Covid,” he said, addressing the media here. He requested Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to involve all the parties in the fight against Covid and save the lives of people.

“We are also writing a letter to the Chief Minister seeking an appointment in this regard. At the same time, we are also seeking an appointment with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan,” Vikramarka said. Since private health care providers are charging exorbitant rates for Covid tests and treatment services to Covid-19 patients, he urged the Chief Minister to fix the rates chargeable by the managements of private hospitals.

“We are requesting the Chief Minister to look into the private hospitals issues keeping in view the problems being faced by people,” he said. In some hospitals, there is a severe shortage of technicians to handle ventilators, Vikramarka said, stating that the Covid situation was alarming in the State.

He asked Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar not to misguide people with false information. “Somesh Kumar is saying that all facilities are being provided at hospitals. We are asking him to accompany us to visit hospitals to know the ground situation,” he said.

“Why are so many ambulances waiting outside the hospital in Khammam district if everything is under control?” he asked.
