Hyderabad: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said no public meetings of Congress, BJP or even ruling TRS would be complete without criticising the AIMIM.

Pointing to the comments made by BJP and Congress leaders during their recent public meetings in the State, he said the two parties should first finalise their opponents and AIMIM was prepared to fight against any party. “We are not afraid of anyone” he said.

Addressing media persons here on Saturday, the AIMIM chief said Union Home Minister Amit Shah as well as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, had come to the Old City during GHMC elections and yet BJP had lost both the divisions. The Union Home Minister was unhappy over this loss, he said.

On the Union Home Minister’s comments of forming BJP government in Telangana after 2023 elections, Asaduddin reminded that BJP had lost MLC elections and Nagarjuna Sagar by-polls. As a political party, it is their right to contest elections and people would deliver their verdict, he said referring to BJP’s victory in GHMC elections as ‘pyrrhic victory’.

Earlier addressing party leaders in the party office, the AIMIM Chief welcomed the State government’s Dalit Bandhu scheme. AIMIM is organising a seminar soon in which experts will speak about the socio-economic status of Muslim minorities. The recommendations made by the speakers would be presented to the government, he said.

Finding fault with those, who were against AIMIM plans to contest elections in different States, the Hyderabad MP said as a political party it was the right of AIMIM to contest different elections to raise voice about the issues pertaining to the poor.

Regarding the Assembly session, which is set to commence from Friday, Asadudin Owaisi said AIMIM would discuss about new building for Osmania General Hospital, mosque in the Secretariat premises, Urdu teachers postings, Metro Rail in Old City and other issues.
