Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) on Saturday approached the police pointing out that a real estate company, CNN Ventures, was allegedly cheating people by showing the e-auction process of plots in the Neopolis project Kokapet.

According to a press release from HMDA, CNN Ventures was allegedly collecting money from people promising them of plots and three BHK flats at a cheaper price in the Kokapet layout.

HMDA emphasised that the e-auction of the plots was not over and that people should not trust persons or agencies that promise them plots in the Neopolis project in Kokapet. The firm also gave advertisements in newspapers and promoted the land sale on social media, saying that if people joined hands with their venture, a 3BHK flat in Kokapet layout measuring 1,500 sft could be purchased for Rs 60 lakh to Rs 65 lakh. Callers were reportedly asked to deposit Rs 2 lakh.

Following the complaint, the Hyderabad Central Crime Station police have registered a case against the company and have taken up investigation.

The complaint was forwarded by City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, to the CCS for registration of an FIR, after which a case was booked under Section 420 r/w 511 of the Indian Penal Code.
