Warangal: Secretary and Correspondent, Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal, (KITSW) Capt V Lakshmikantha Rao said on Thursday that more than 50 multinational IT and core engineering companies conducted campus placement drives at KITSW during the academic year 2020-21 and selected more than 800 BTech and MTech students for jobs offering them handsome pay packages.

“It is an all-time achievement for the college. Notwithstanding the continuing Covid-19 pandemic and shift to online mode of campus hiring process by the companies, the KITSW has recorded a 15 per cent rise compared to the 700-plus placements achieved in 2019-2020,” he added.

Lakshmikantha Rao said the college had secured more than 100 offers in four IT MNCs – DXC Technology, TCS, Infosys, Cognizant Technology – which is an achievement for the institution. “While 12 companies offered their selectees a CTC in the range of Rs 6 lakh – 15 lakh per annum, the world’s top MNCs including GE Aviation, GE Energy, Experian IDC, Price Water Coopers, Chubb, Accolite Digital, Accenture, TA Digital etc., are among the 50+ companies that hired students in their campus recruitment drive from KITSW,” he added.

Principal, Prof K Ashoka Reddy, stated that they could achieve this feat is due to internal training programmes by the faculty and the external training programmes by industry experts conducted meticulously from time to time for the benefit of the students. “We are implementing ‘outcome-based curricula’ imparting 21st-century industry-relevant knowledge, skills and qualities and are also organising skill development programmes through well-established interface and tie-ups with TCS, Automation Anywhere Univ., NASSCOM and Wipro. Through these programmes, the students are trained in the latest emerging technological areas namely, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Robotics based Process Automation, Machine Learning etc.,” he added.
Treasurer P Narayana Reddy said KITSW was a 41 year-old UGC autonomous NAAC – A graded institute with all its UG programmes accredited by NBA, New Delhi. Dean, Training and Placements Y Purandar, Training and Placements Officer (TPOs) Prof Srikanth, Dr Chandrabai, Heads, Deans, Manager Corporate Relations Kiran Kumar and PRO and Associate Professor Dr D Prabhakara Chary complimented all the selected students for their success.
