Record budget of Rs 5,337 crore sanctioned to Telangana: Ashwini Vaishnaw
Rs 41,677 crore being invested for various rail development projects across the State, says Railway Minister

Hyderabad: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday said that Telangana State has been sanctioned a record budget of Rs 5,337 crore for the year 2025-26.
The Minister while interacting with press persons in Delhi on Monday said that the annual average budget outlay for combined Andhra Pradesh State during 2009-14 was only Rs 886 crore.
“The budget allocation to Telangana has witnessed almost six times increase as compared to the average allocation done during the period of 2009-14 for the combined State,” he stated.
The Minister further stated that an amount of Rs 41,677 crore was being invested for various rail development projects in Telangana.
He informed that the railway network in the State was 100 per cent electrified now.
He stated that Telangana has been leading in the installation of Kavach, with the centre of excellence for Kavach located at Secunderabad.
” Currently, 1,465 Kms of Kavach has been commissioned in various sections across South Central Railway jurisdiction and the trials for the installation of latest version 4.0 are underway,” he said.
