Sangareddy: The Maternity and Children Hospital (MCH) in Sangareddy has performed 3,084 deliveries in the last four months, significantly up from 2,632 deliveries during the corresponding period last year. About 57 per cent (1,754) of total deliveries performed in the hospital during the period were normal deliveries.
Increasing from last year November’s 669 deliveries, the MCH Sangareddy has performed a record 819 deliveries during November month this year. More importantly, 457 (56 percent) of the total deliveries out of 819 were normal deliveries.
Not only November month, but the MCH, located on the premises of Government Hospital Sangareddy, has performed more deliveries than the previous year during the past four months.
The hospital has performed 827 deliveries in October considerably increasing from last year October’s 718. It has recorded 736 deliveries in September against the 629 deliveries performed during the year 2020. They performed 702 deliveries in August month in 2021 by increasing from the previous August’s 616.
More than 50 per cent of the total deliveries performed during these four months were normal deliveries. Speaking to Telangana Today, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr Vijayabhaskar said that 56 percent, 60 percent, 58 percent, and 54 percent of total deliveries performed in November, October, September and August months respectively were normal deliveries.
Dr Ashok Muthakani, a Pediatrician at MCH, said that women were opting government hospitals over private hospitals in Sangareddy because they had better facilities than most of the private hospitals besides the KCR Kit also attracting women into their hospital.
