Reeds FC crowned inaugural Young Telangana Football League champions
Reeds FC defeated Petra Sports Academy 2-1 to win the inaugural Young Telangana Football League at Lal Bahadur Stadium. Gymkhana FC finished third, while individual awards recognised standout players and girls’ contributions, marking a promising future for football in Telangana

Hyderabad: Reeds FC scored a narrow 2-1 win against Petra Sports Academy to be crowned the inaugural champions of the Young Telangana Football League, organised by the Sports Authority of Telangana, at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Sunday.
Gymkhana FC recorded a 3-2 win against LB Stadium-A to secure third place.
Sujay of Reeds FC was named the promising player, Karunia of LB Stadium-A the best striker, and Sanav of Petra Sports Academy the best goalkeeper. Special awards were also presented to Drishti and Tarunika, recognising the impressive contribution of girls in the league.
Dhyan Chand Award recipient Shabbir Ali attended the event as chief guest and presented prizes to the winners.
Dr. Soni Bala Devi, IFS, VC & MD of SATG, described the event as a pilot edition and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to hosting longer-format leagues for more age groups and clubs in the coming months — a promising signal for the future of football in Telangana.
