Hyderabad: A refresher course for the officers and personnel of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate on investigation, from petition to conviction, in property offences concluded here on Saturday. A total of 124 personnel from the ranks of inspectors to constable attended.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, along with the DCP Traffic SM Vijay Kumar, interacted with the staff and clarified doubts.

Sajjanar discussed free registration of cases, visiting of the scene of offence and collection of evidence, preparation of plan of action in every case, proper interrogation, scene reconstruction and technical evidence and prosecution.

As part of the course, training was given on how to deal with suspects during case registration, after the arrest, charge sheet, prosecution and practical issues faced during probe.

“Free registration of crime is important to reduce the crime rate. Documentation is important in an investigation. Everything should be recorded. Always remember criminals would have left something at the crime spot. Police should develop human intelligence. The investigation officer should go to the spot, collect the scientific evidence,” Sajjanar said.

Vijay Kumar discussed on uniform procedures to be followed for all cases. “This refresher course was conducted to train the police officers on how to investigate properly. It is to know that investigation of the case is as important as the detection of the case,” he said.

An exam was conducted for the participants and the meritorious officers were rewarded towards the end.
