Hyderabad: Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy on Saturday said the alignment for construction of Regional Ring Road (RRR) on norther side from Sangareddy to Choutuppal has been finalized. A detailed project report (DPR) is also ready.
At a press conference here, he said the RRR would be taken up 50 kms away from the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in two phases. The prestigious RRR would be a game changer for Telangana.
“If RRR is completed, several IT parks, pharma companies, recreation facilities, malls, multiplexes, residential complexes and villas among other facilities will come up in the districts abutting RRR,” he said, adding that the tourists would be benefited to a large extent.
The travelling time of the people would also be reduced and motorists can reach their destination in the districts without entering the city. The RRR will not only reduce the burden on ORR but also help in future requirements as and when the city is expanded.
“We are presently constructing four-lane RRR and its design is prepared in such a manner that eight-lane can be made in future to meet the traffic requirements,” Reddy explained, adding that more employment would be generated with the RRR.
Once RRR was completed, the city would be free from traffic chaos and several residential colonies would also come up near the RRR so that people can buy houses at affordable prices, he said.
The State government would be sharing 50 per cent of the land acquisition expenses while remaining 50 per cent by the Central government. The Centre would be bearing the total construction cost of the RRR, Reddy said, adding that there is no foreign investment in the project.
