Hyderabad: Registration of non-agriculture properties through Dharani, the unique one-stop portal for all matters pertaining to land transactions and management, will commence from November 23.

Announcing the decision here on Sunday, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, as part of his efforts to alleviate people’s sufferings on account of Covid-19 pandemic and its aftermath, also announced release of Rs 120 crore to the Telangana State Road Transportion Corporation (TSRTC) towards payment of two months salaries of employees that were deferred during the lockdown period.

Besides directing the Finance department to immediately release the funds, Chandrashekhar Rao also instructed the TSRTC authorities to make arrangements for restoration of RTC bus services to pre-Covid era across the State, starting with an increase in city bus services from the present 25 per cent to 50 per cent in GHMC limits.

In another initiative, the Chief Minister decided to give an opportunity to eligible contract lecturers to work in their choice of vacant posts available in government junior college in the State, and instructed the Education department officials to prepare necessary guidelines as per existing rules and regulations.

The Chief Minister, who held a detailed review meeting with top officials on the operation of the revolutionary Dharani portal at Pragathi Bhavan here, asked Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to formally launch the registration of non-agriculture lands. The portal, which was formally launched on October 29 by the Chief Minister, went partially live on November 2 when registrations and mutations of agriculture lands were carried out online in a matter of 15 to 20 minutes. Chandrashekhar Rao had announced then that registration of non-agriculture lands would go live within three weeks, and true to his word, Dharani will start accepting registration of such lands from November 23.

The Chief Minister said the process of registration of agriculture properties initiated by the State government through Dharani portal was gaining popularity. “There has been excellent response from the people of Telangana State who feel that a historic era has begun in land registration process. They are satisfied that their farm lands have been secured by Dharani website. The feedback from the field-level also has been excellent,” he said.

Chandrashekhar Rao stated that Dharani has overcome minor issues faced during its initial stages and was confident that all the issues will be resolved in the next three-four days. He said the process for registration of non-agriculture properties was delayed to fixing teething problems in the registration problems. “Now that all the issues have been plugged, the Chief Secretary will launch the registration process for non-agriculture lands on November 23. I heartily commend the authorities for making the Dharani portal excellent,” he said.
