Registration opens for UGC-NET June 2026 exam
The National Testing Agency has opened registration for UGC-NET June 2026, to be held June 22–30 in CBT mode across 85 subjects. Applications are open till May 20, with eligibility for JRF, assistant professorship, and PhD admissions

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the online registration portal for the UGC-NET June 2026 examination, which will be conducted from June 22-30 in a computer-based test (CBT) mode for 85 subjects.
The exam is conducted on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to determine eligibility of Indian nationals for award of Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes in Indian universities and colleges.
In a statement on Wednesday, NTA said that the submission of online application forms will remain open from April 29 to May 20, 2026, till 11:50 pm. The last date for submission of examination fee through credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI is also May 20, 2026 (up to 11:50 pm).
The correction window for particulars in the online application form will be available from May 22 to May 24, 2026 (up to 11:50 pm).
The announcement of the exam city is scheduled by June 10, 2026, while admit cards will be available for download by June 15, 2026.
Details regarding centre, date and shift will be indicated on the admit card. The display of recorded responses and answer keys will be announced later on the official website. The application fee for general/unreserved category candidates is Rs 1,150, for general-EWS/OBC-NCL candidates Rs 600, and for SC/ST/PwD/third gender candidates Rs 325.
Candidates can apply only through online mode at https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/ and www.nta.ac.in. Submission of application forms through any other mode will not be accepted. Only one application is permitted per candidate, the official statement said. Applicants have been advised to strictly follow the instructions given in the information bulletin available on the NTA website, failing which they may face disqualification, it said.
Candidates must ensure that the e-mail address and mobile number provided in the online application form belong to them or their parents/guardians, as all communication will be sent by NTA through the registered e-mail ID or mobile number. Candidates have been advised to fill in their particulars carefully as no changes will be allowed after final submission of the application form.
They are also encouraged to use Aadhaar verification while completing the application process to facilitate registration, examination procedures, and processing of results. NTA added that the dates mentioned are tentative and applicants will be informed in case of any changes.
