Khammam: The registrations of lands through Dharani portal commenced in erstwhile Khammam on Monday. The new system of land registrations through Dharani portal has received much appreciation from the public who booked slots for carrying out the transactions. In all, four slots were booked on Monday in Kothagudem district, informed the District Collector MV Reddy.
One slot each Aswaraopet and Dammapet and two slots in Burgampahad were booked and those involved in the land purchase and sale were told to go to the concerned tahsildar office as per the given date and time for the registration of land, he informed. In Khammam, three registrations in Penuballi mandal and two registrations in Madhira mandal took place when the last reports came in. However technical problems reportedly prevented the officials from accessing the portal at Sathupalli while at Penuballi officials could not print passbooks related to two transactions.
According to officials, tahsilar offices in 23 mandals were equipped with dedicated computers, fingerprint scanners, printers and others in Bhadradri Kothagudem district and in 21 mandals in Khammam district for the purpose of executing the land registrations. Meanwhile the public who have completed the land registration process were much delighted.
“I never thought pattadar passbook could be obtained in such a simple and quick manner”, stated Koduru Latha after receiving a passbook for half acre land she bought at Kondrupadu in Penuballi mandal. The same was the opinion of G Srinivas who registered land in the name of his wife Tirupathamma at Matur in Madhira mandal. ‘This Dharani system is really effective and the process of registration was completed in a speedy manner’ he noted.
Iravath Koteshwar Rao who executed a gift deed in the name of his son Vasu at Gidugupadu in Madhira mandal said, “There were no middlemen and no other trouble normally public face while selling or buying lands. Everything was very organised”.
