Hyderabad: On popular demand from amateur runners from across the country, the registration date for the tenth edition of Airtel Hyderabad Marathon (AHM)-2021, which will be held on Sunday, December 19, has been extended till November 30.
On the marathon day, Hyderabad Runners Society is organising three-different running events including 10K, Half Marathon and Full Marathon. The registrations for all the three running categories will remain open till November 30.
As part of curtain raiser for Hyderabad marathon, the Hyderabad Runners Society is also organising a 5K fun run on Sunday, December 12, for which registrations are open till December 5.
For the first time a virtual run category has also been added to the Hyderabad marathon, which can be taken-up by runners at their own locations from December 11 to 20. “While we would like to have everybody take part physically for this edition, many from other States might not be able to make it to Hyderabad for various reasons. All such runners can register for the virtual run till December 15,” Hyderabad Runners said.
The marathon is also supporting multiple charitable organizations and has requested people everywhere to buy a charity bib, donate, run and make a difference. The Hyderabad Runners have also urged people in Hyderabad to cheer and support the runners.
In the last six weeks, the runners’ society has trained and mentored around 1100 new runners through a training program so that they can start their running journey. “All the trainees will graduate to do the first 5K Run on December 12. We have included an element of fun for the family by including a costume run to do a 5K on the same day,” Hyderabad Runners said.
