Relentless downpour pummels eastern Hyderabad between Sunday night and Monday morning
Heavy overnight rain battered Hyderabad, with eastern areas recording the highest rainfall. Defence Colony in Hayathnagar topped the chart with 91.8 mm, followed by Kapra and Cherlapally. The downpour caused waterlogging and traffic snarls across several neighbourhoods.
Hyderabad: Intense downpour accompanied by thunder lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Sunday night.
While the thundershowers were active in most parts, the eastern Hyderabad bore the brunt of the intense rains, as they witnessed maximum rainfall in the last 12-hours.
Defence colony in Hayathnagar area (91.8 mm), GHMC office in Kapra (77.5 mm), Kushaiguda old ward office Cherlapally, Kapra (68.5 mm), Rajiv Nagar Community Hall (Kapra) (66.5 mm) recorded highest rainfall in the city.
