Devotees attend Shiva Kalyanotsavam rituals in Oman.
Dubai: Shiva Kalyanotsavam, the celestial wedding of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvathi, commonly known as Vemulawada’s Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Kalyanotsavam, was performed with religious fervour and gaiety in Oman.
The venue at Barqa, on the outskirts of Muscat, was packed with scores of devotees, mainly from Telangana, who work and live in Oman. The venue reverberated to the chants of ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ as devotees in hundreds made a beeline for special prayers and darshan starting from the wee hours.
Vedic scholars who were exclusively flown in from Vemulawada joined the local Vedic pandits from Telangana and performed the wedding as per rituals and tradition.
Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas and Armoor MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy attended the wedding as special guests which was held by various Telangana NRI organisations in Oman.
The Telangana NRIs had also celebrated Yadadri’s Laxmi Narsimha Swamy Rathotsavam.
