Nalgonda: Rema Rajeshwari, a 2009 batch IPS officer, became th first woman Superintendent of Police (SP) of Nalgonda district when she assumed charge on Monday. She is also the first woman IPS officer from her home district Idukkki in Kerala.
Rema Rajeshwari had earlier worked as Additional SP(Admin) of Nalgonda district in 2014. She took charge as SP of Nalgonda from outgoing SP A V Ranganath in District Police Office (DPO).
Speaking after assuming charge as SP of Nalgonda, Rema Rajeshwari said that it is a great honor to her for taking charge from a senior police officer like Ranganath. Stating that she has knowledge about the district, she said that protection of law and order would be major task in Nalgonda. The district has border with other neighboring state, she added.
