Remastered song of popular movie ‘Maa Bhumi’ released in Asifabad
‘Palleturi Pillagada’ song from the 1979 movie was recreated by music director Yashwanth Nag
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Additional Superintendent of Police Chittaranjan released the popular song ‘Palleturi Pillagada’ from the movie ‘Maa Bhumi’ (1979) which was recreated by music director Yashwanth Nag at Mohinda village in Tiryani mandal on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Chittaranjan was all praise for Yashwanth Nag for remastering the old song which left a profound impact on society in the 80s. Yashwanth thanked the police officer for gracing the occasion. He also thanked tribals who generously helped him in reproducing the song and offering shelter during a month-long stay in Tiryani.
The music director said that he remastered the song to carry it forward to future generations. Earlier, members of the band and friends of Yashwanth from different parts of the country attended the event and rendered musical performances, enthralling audiences.
The ‘Palleturi Pillagada’ song was originally sung by Sandhya, while the lyrics were penned by Suddala Hanumanthu. The music was composed by Vinjamuri Seethadevi and Goutham Ghosh. The movie ‘Maa Bhumi’ was directed by Gautam Ghosh and released in 1979.
