Reopen sunflower purchasing centres: Siddipet farmers demand
The farmers said that former chief minister K Chanandrashekhar Rao's government used to purchase every single grain from farmers when they were in power.

Siddipet: Sunflower farmers staged a protest demanding the reopening of the Sunflower purchasing centre at Thoguta on Thursday. Farmers’ leaders K Harikrishna Reddy and Jeedipally Rami Reddy staged a protest on the road in Thoguta blocking the road. They poured the sunflower produced on the road and blocked the road by placing a tractor as part of the protest. Later, the farmers’ leaders visited the market yard in Thoguta to inspect the produce kept by the farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, Harikrishna Reddy said that the purchasing centres opened on March 3 and closed on 21, though still many farmers were waiting in the market with their produce. He demanded the government to reopen them until the last grain of the produce is purchased.
