Hyderabad: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka demanded on Wednesday that the Central government withdraw the three controversial farm laws in the wake of the stay order issued by the Supreme Court.
Interacting with mediapersons here, he termed the three farm laws as anti-farmers. He demanded that the State government pass a unanimous resolution in the Assembly opposing the implementation of the three farm laws.
Stating that he had also written a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao in this regard, Vikramarka said the Congress would not keep silent if the State government attempts to scrap all the foodgrain procurement centres from the villages in the State.
“These centres, which were established during erstwhile Andhra Pradesh to get rid of middlemen problem, should continue till they purchase the last food grain from farmers,” he said, adding that any attempt to scrap these centres would be nothing short of working against the spirit of Telangana.
