Nalgonda: District Collector Prashant J Patil on Tuesday said that Nalgonda was witnessing industrial growth due to the initiatives taken by the State government.
Unfurling the national flag at 72nd Republic Day celebrations held in Police Parade ground here, the District Collector said permissions were sanctioned for setting up of 75 industries in this financial year through TS i-Pass. About Rs 469 crores of investments would come to the district and also provide employment to 1,592 youth through these units. Under T-PRIDE (Telangana State Program for Rapid Incubation of Dalit Entrepreneurs), Rs 9.20 crores of investment subsidy were sanctioned to 285 units so far, he added.
Stating that welfare schemes implemented in the State were role models for others in the country, he explained the implementation of welfare schemes and developmental projects in the district.
Patil said safe drinking water was being supplied to 3,50,000 families in the district under Mission Bhagiratha. Works of all four water treatment plants and 1,555 overhead water storage reservoirs (OHSR) had been completed for the purpose, he added.
Stating that sheep units were distributed to 26,000 beneficiaries at subsidized rates in the first phase of Sheep Distribution Scheme, he said the programme was taken up again in the district after a gap due to Covid lockdown. Sheep were distributed to 183 shepherds by Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav.
He said that Devarakonda and Kondamallepally mandal were selected for National Rurban Mission (NRuM) under which clusters of Rurban villages would be created by developing urban level amenities in the rural areas. Under the scheme, Rs 15 crores have been released to take works in the two mandals and Rs five crores of fund were also spent for the purpose, he added.
He said that the district police was working effectively and protecting law and order. Three SHE teams were working in the district to deal with the harassment against the girls and women, he added.
Superintendent of Police A V Ranganath, Zilla Parishad Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, Nalgonda MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy and Miryalaguda MLA N Bhasker Rao were also attended the republic day celebrations.
