Residents of BS Maktha, MS Maktha protest against eviction drive in Hyderabad
Residents of BS Maktha and MS Maktha staged a protest in Hyderabad alleging that the State government was planning to demolish their homes. Later, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath visited the area and assured them that no demolition would take place.

Hyderabad: Several residents of BS Maktha and MS Maktha on Friday held a massive protest along Necklace Road railway station road alleging that the State government was trying to demolish their homes.
The protestors claimed that the government was planning to remove their dwellings and render them homeless. There were also allegations that notices for evictions were being served in these areas. Raising slogans against the government, the protestors said they have been living here for decades and paying all taxes and now the government was seeking to evict them.
Later in the evening, the HYDRAA Commissioner, AV Ranganath visited MS Maktha and B S Maktha and sought to assure them their homes would not be demolished. He urged residents not to believe misinformation being spread that HYDRAA would remove houses falling within the FTL limits of Hussain Sagar.
