Residents protest against displacement under Gandhi Sarovar project
Around 300 residents of colonies near Hydershakote in Bandlaguda Jagir staged a silent protest against displacement under the Gandhi Sarovar project linked to the Musi Riverfront Development Project, raising concerns over the impact on their houses.

Hyderabad: Around 300 residents whose properties will be affected as part of the Gandhi Sarovar project at Hydershakote in Bandlaguda Jagir held a silent protest against the State government proceeding with a PowerPoint presentation on the Musi Riverfront Development Project on Friday.
The protestors, wearing black ribbons, displayed placards highlighting the displacement of their houses due to the project. The protest started at around 10 am and continued till 5 pm at Sai Ram Nagar.
The protestors were from colonies including Shiva Puri Colony, Dattatreya Colony, Sri Vigneshwara Colony, Dream Homes Colony, Karywell Homes, PG Colony, Vishal Nagar and Sai Ram Nagar along the River Musi.
BRS working president KT Ram Rao had taken out a Musi Dandi March on March 1 in these affected colonies and expressed solidarity with their protest. He also met the residents and assured that the BRS would extend its support in fighting the displacement faced by them.
