Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Urban Development Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar on Tuesday instructed officials to restore the Bansilalpet stepwell by Independence Day.
Endowments Department officials were instructed by the Minister to expedite the process of handing over 2,910 square yards in Somappa Math and 2,350 square yards in Jeera Compound to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. Both these land parcels are located in Sanath Nagar Constituency and plans are underway to develop infrastructure for economically weaker sections at these places.
Meanwhile, Roads and Buildings officials were asked to transfer the land located in Pattigadda near Begumpet to the GHMC for building a multipurpose function hall. The instructions were given at a meeting to review progress of developmental works in the city.
GHMC Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board Managing Director Dana Kishore, Hyderabad Collector L Sharman and others were present.
Officials were also instructed to check the possibility of reclaiming a two-acre land that was leased to a private school in Begumpet so that the State government could go ahead with its plan to build a graveyard for the Muslim community at the spot.
