Warangal: A minor girl was allegedly raped by a sexagenarian at Parimala colony under Kakatiya University Campus (KUC) police station limits in Hanamkonda three days ago. The incident, however, came to light on Tuesday when the victim, who has been suffering from fever and stomach-ache since then, revealed to her father about the wicked act of the 68-year-old accused, B Bikshapathi, a retired superintendent, who worked in the education department.
Subsequently, the victim’s father, a physically challenged person, approached the police and lodged a complaint with the police stating that his 13-year-old daughter was raped by their neighbour. Responding to his complaint, the police arrested the accused and sent the girl to the hospital for medical examination. The victim’s father, who used to work in a bar, lost his job during the COVID-19 crisis. KUC Inspector K Janardhan Reddy told media that they had booked a case against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and started investigations.
