Retired Indian Army personnel adopts Lion Tailed Macaque at Nehru Zoo in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A retired Indian Army personnel has adopted a Lion Tailed Macaque at the Nehru Zoological Park here on Thursday.
According to the zoo authorities, 84-year-old A.Krishna Murthy, Indian Army (Retd) and a resident of Hyderabad visited the Nehru Zoo and offered to adopt a Lion Tailed Macaque for a period of six months. For this, he handed over a cheque for Rs.15,000 to Nehru Zoological Park curator V.V.L. Subhadra Devi.
On the occasion, Krishna Murthy said his commitment for conservation of wild animals should act as an inspiration to many and hoped that more citizens would come forward to help the Nehru Zoological Park, in achieving their goals of conservation and education.
