Hyderabad: Retired Chief Scientist from Hyderabad-based National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Dr R K Chadha has been awarded the prestigious Raja Ramanna Fellowship by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, for the year 2021.
Dr Chadha specialises in the field of earthquakes related to critical structures like Nuclear Power Plants, Dams and Tsunami hazards in the country. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Science, India and a recipient of the National Mineral Award bestowed on him by the Government of India in 2003, a press release said.
The DAE sponsors Raja Ramanna(RR) Fellowship to utilise the services of active retired scientists, engineers and technologists. The fellowships are awarded to senior scientists who have been involved in high-quality research in their specialised discipline and post-retirement wish to contribute further.
