Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday criticised the MLC elections returning officer Upender for failing to upload details of contestants online immediately after they submitted nomination papers.

In a complaint lodged against Upender to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Shanshak Goel, Revanth Reddy requested to take action against Upender. As per rules, the details of MLC contestants should be made available online immediately after filing of nominations.

A separate complaint was also lodged against former IAS officer and TRS MLC contestant P Venkatrami Reddy.

Revanth Reddy urged the CEO to obtain information from Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) about Venkatrami Reddy. “We are urging the CEO to cancel the nomination of Venkatrami Reddy since several cases are pending against him,” Revanth Reddy said. He urged the CEO to deploy a special observer for the purpose and alleged that an opportunity was not given for the Opposition parties to examine the nomination papers.
