Hyderabad: Countering TPCC president and MP A Revanth Reddy’s remarks on the alleged scam pertaining to the coal blocks belonging to Singareni Colleries Company Limited (SCCL) in Odisha, Government Whip Balka Suman lashed that the former lacked basic understanding of issues. He said Revanth had no clue about the SCCL turnover nor the total worth of Naini coal block in Odisha.
“Revanth Reddy alleged that there was a Rs 50,000 crore scam pertaining to Naini coal block. But he is not aware of the fact that the entire coal in these blocks is worth Rs 50,000 crore,” he said.

Speaking to mediapersons at TRS Legislative Party here on Sunday, Suman found fault with the TPCC president’s statement at public meeting in Parigi over Singareni coal blocks in Odisha. He said it was unfortunate that Revanth did not question the Centre’s move to privatise SCCL, but he is making wild allegations against the company management as well as the government. “Revanth is proving to be the last nail in the coffin of the Congress party in the State. He has become a major hurdle for the Congress to survive in the State. He is trying to send all senior leaders of his party and close the doors of Gandhi Bhavan permanently,” he added.
Public Undertakings Committee chairman and MLA A Jeevan Reddy reminded that Revanth Reddy was caught red-handed while handing over money in the Note-for-Vote scam. He recalled that despite the TPCC president’s attempts and corruption charges against the State government in connection with Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme and other projects which were proved futile as the Centre gave a clean chit in the Parliament itself.
MLA Maganti Gopinath warned the TPCC president against using such abusive and baseless remarks against the Chief Minister.
