Hyderabad: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao of neglecting the State’s interests, especially in river water sharing with Andhra Pradesh.

“In 2015, a pact was signed between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh over River Krishna water sharing and it was limited to only that particular year. However, despite it being clearly mentioned in the rules, the pact was being extended every year,” he said, and alleged that the Chief Minister always ensured his political benefits over people’s interests in taking up the issue with Krishna River Management Board.

Addressing media persons after paying tributes to former Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy on his death anniversary at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, the TPCC president said he prayed for the well-being of Rajashekhara Reddy’s family. As per the dreams of the late Chief Minister, all efforts would be made to make Congress leader Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister of India, he said.

Regarding YS Vijayamma’s Atmiya Sammelanam, which was organized in the city on Thursday, he said it was a family event and did not have political significance.

TPCC working president Mahesh Kumar Goud issued orders to party workers not to participate in the YS Vijayamma’s programme. If any leaders attend the programme, it would be their personal visit and AICC will examine these aspects accordingly, he said.
