Revanth Reddy announces Rs 1 crore to build ‘Bhavan’ for Maharashtra weavers
CM declares that the amount will be sanctioned by the Telangana government for the construction of Markendeya Bhavan in Solapur
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who once criticised former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for offering ex gratia to farmers in other States, has now announced Rs 1 crore for the construction of a Markendeya Bhavan in Solapur in Maharashtra.
The Chief Minister was critical of the BRS supremo for announcing Rs 3 lakh as ex gratia to farmers who lost their lives while protesting against the Union government’s farm laws in the past. He had raised objections over Telangana funds and taxes being used for Punjab farmers.
However, contradicting his own stance, Revanth Reddy on Sunday declared that Rs.1 crore would be sanctioned by the Telangana government for construction of the Markendeya Bhavan in Solapur.
Recalling that he was invited to campaign in Solapur during the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Chief Minister said weavers of Telangana origin there had sought a donation for the construction of the Bhavan.
At a Padmashali Sangham programme here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that in order to offer two sarees each to 65 SHG women, the government had placed an order for 1.30 crore sarees with weavers.
