Hyderabad: With statements made by a few Congress MLAs on different issues backfiring on the party in the recent past, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed MLAs and MLCs to stick to the party and government’s line while responding to issues.
“There will be no personal damage in politics, but the damage caused by individuals will ruin the entire system. Our survival in politics depends entirely on upholding and preserving the integrity of the system,” Revanth Reddy told MLAs during the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting here on Monday.
The Government Whips were specifically instructed to ensure coordination in the House. There should be proper coordination among the Whips in selecting topics and issues to be debated in the House, he said.
Stressing that the Congress government was presenting its third budget in the session, he said every member must speak and respond strictly in accordance with the party and the government line.
The Chief Minister also suggested that MLAs and MLCs tour other States and study best practices and policies being adopted there.
