HYDERABAD: Challenging BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao to attend the Assembly session, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said he would share all details of support extended under Rythu Bharosa and the crop loan waiver, the tardy implementation of which the BRS has been relentlessly criticising.

Continuing his intemperate language towards the former Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy ridiculed the BRS supremo saying he was not able to stand properly and likened him to outdated currency note. He also alleged that the previous government failed to disburse Rythu Bandhu funds citing the election notification. However, he did not mention that the disbursal of Rythu Bandhu funds were stopped by the Election Commission after the Congress lodged a complaint.

Later, the Chief Minister said permission would be sought from Speaker G Prasad Kumar to hold an Assembly session on February 5 or 6 to discuss SC categorisation. Similarly, on February 2, the BC Commission report would be submitted and the judicial commission on Madiga community’s categorization would also be submitting its report. There would be discussion on these issues in the House, he said.

After the Telangana Congress move to conduct an online poll on X comparing the governance of BRS and the Congress backfired miserably on Thursday, the Chief Minister also tried some damage control by trying to downplay the poll.

Likening the Congress to Salman Khan and the BRS to Rakhi Sawant, the Chief Minister, who also got confused between X and TikTok, said, “A competition was conducted on TikTok and the former Chief Minister got more likes than me.” “In the past, a competition was conducted between Salman Khan and Rakhi Sawant on Tik Tok and she got more likes than him. Does this mean she is a popular actor than Salman Khan?” the Chief Minister asked in a derogatory tone.
