Revanth Reddy directs Congress leaders to prioritise SIR campaign over party office visits

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed Congress leaders to avoid Gandhi Bhavan until August 3 and focus on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign in the districts. He warned that nominated posts would not be given to inactive leaders and stressed accountability of in‑charge ministers and MPs in supervising the exercise.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy instructed the Congress leaders to stop visiting Gandhi Bhavan until the last date of submitting applications under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) on August 3. 

He was stern with the leaders for failing to visit the fields and not actively participating in the SIR exercise in the districts. “The nominated posts of Chairmen will not be given to those who are not active during the SIR campaign,” Revanth Reddy said.

The Chief Minister participated in a video conference on SIR, which was attended by TPCC president Mahesh Goud, AICC incharge Meenakshi Natarajan and other senior leaders. 

During the meeting, he stressed that the In-charge Ministers should take the responsibility of supervising the SIR exercise. A comprehensive review meeting is being organised on July 30 to review the Assembly constituency wise progress of the SIR.

The Chief Minister also warned that strict action will be taken if the MPs fail to perform their duties in their jurisdiction where they have been appointed as in-charges. Since the deadline for SIR has been extended to August 3, he said that it should be taken as an opportunity to reach out to people. 

He also stated that a SIR review meeting with all 10 incharge Ministers would be organised on Monday.
