Revanth Reddy directs officials to remain alert after heavy rains in Hyderabad

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed officials to remain alert following heavy rains in Hyderabad on Tuesday. He ordered coordinated action by civic and police authorities, deployment of personnel and machinery, prevention of waterlogging and traffic congestion, and readiness of rescue teams.

Hyderabad: Following heavy rains in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed the official machinery to remain alert.

The Chief Minister instructed the Commissioners of the three Municipal Corporations in the Greater Hyderabad region, HYDRAA and Police Commissioners to work in coordination and monitor the situation constantly.

Officials were ordered to take immediate measures to prevent waterlogging on main roads, junctions and in residential colonies. Required personnel and machinery should be deployed promptly in waterlogged areas, he said.

The Chief Minister also instructed the Energy Department to ensure there were no power outages. The Traffic Police wing was directed to take proactive measures to prevent traffic congestion.

Revanth Reddy suggested paying special attention to low-lying areas and colonies prone to flooding. Special teams should be pressed into service to clear obstructions to the flow of water in drains and storm-water channels. Rescue teams should remain ready for immediate response during emergencies, and control rooms should remain vigilant, he ordered.

“Officials must be available on the ground to monitor the situation. Take all necessary measures and ensure people do not face any inconvenience,” Revanth Reddy said.
