Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is flying to New Delhi on Saturday to attend a meeting with Congress high command. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka already left for the national capital on Friday evening and TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud is expected to fly on Saturday.

The party high command summoned the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and the TPCC president to discuss appointments for District Congress Committee president posts, which have been due for long.

AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan and Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy are also expected to attend the meeting. AICC examiners have already held meetings with district-level leaders and noted their suggestions and recommendations. The same would be discussed in the meeting with the high command, a senior leader from Gandhi Bhavan said.

While this was one dimension of the Telangana leaders being summoned to New Delhi, the other dimension appears to be the recent state of affairs in the Congress government.

A few Cabinet Ministers are at loggerheads with one another on different issues, especially regarding allotment of tenders.

Forest Minister Konda Surekha raising objections over the involvement of Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy in Medaram Jatara tenders and police high drama at her residence to pick up former OSD N Sumanth last Wednesday left the Congress high command worried.

This apart, senior IAS officer SAM Rizvi applying for voluntary retirement and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao writing to Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao to reject the application, triggered a political storm in the State.
