Revanth Reddy inaugurates Kaloji Kalakshetram in Hanamkonda

Constructed on 4.25 acres at a cost of Rs.95 crore, the Kalakshetram is dedicated to the memory of renowned poet of Telangana, Kaloji Narayana Rao

Warangal: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday inaugurated the Kaloji Kalakshetram, a multi-purpose cultural convention centre, at Balasamudram area in Hanamkonda.

The Chief Minister also unveiled the statue of Kaloji and a short film on Kaloji’s life and the development of the Kalakshetram was also shown as part of the event. The entire cabinet was present on the occasion.

Constructed on 4.25 acres at a cost of Rs.95 crore, the Kalakshetram is dedicated to the memory of renowned poet of Telangana, Kaloji Narayana Rao.

The Kaloji Kalakshetram project, a brainchild of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and for which the foundation was laid by him in 2014, was executed by the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation and supervised by the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA).

The construction responsibility was transferred from the Department of Tourism to the KUDA in 2022. All the major works were completed during the previous BRS government’s tenure.

The four-story structure houses an auditorium with a seating capacity of 1127, a mini meeting hall, dining facilities, and VIP suites, as well as an art gallery, library, offices, lobby, kitchen, and storage areas, all equipped with the latest state-of-the-art amenities.

The kalakshetram spans a built-up area of 1.77 lakh square feet. The state-of-the-art auditorium is equipped with advanced audio-visual facilities, making it an ideal venue for cultural programmes, theatrical performances, and art festivals.

The kalakshetram has features such as an elaborate entrance lobby, landscaped gardens, streetlights and a decorative fountain. At its forefront stands a statue of Kaloji, paying homage to his unmatched contributions to Telugu literature and culture.

The kalakshetram includes four mini halls designed for diverse events and an AC art gallery. The gallery, showcasing photographs, memorabilia, and awards of Kaloji, offers visitors an immersive cultural experience.
