Hyderabad: Former BRS MP B Vinod Kumar challenged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka over their claims regarding government job creation during the tenure of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, Vinod Kumar questioned whether Revanth Reddy could prove that the Chandrashekhar Rao’s government did not fill 1.6 lakh jobs. “We (BRS) filled a record 1.6 lakh jobs during Chandrashekhar Rao’s tenure. However, we didn’t market it like Revanth Reddy is doing. There is none better than him when it comes to marketing and taking credit for the work done by others,” he remarked, referencing Revanth Reddy’s self-proclaimed real estate business expertise.
He accused Revanth Reddy of distorting facts, pointing out that the Congress government was only handing over appointment letters for the recruitment done during the Chandrashekhar Rao government. He said while the BRS government sent appointment letters by post, Revanth Reddy was organising programmes at LB Stadium to hand over them to the appointees.
Vinod Kumar also criticised the Congress for failing to identify vacancies after promising to fill 2 lakh jobs by December 2024. “If Revanth Reddy is serious, he should hold a meeting with the unemployed and clarify on the number of existing vacancies,” he demanded, reminding that the Congress government did not issue a single job notification in 10 months since its formation.
He also strongly objected to the Chief Minister’s recent remarks that Chandrashekhar Rao gave appointment to Vinod Kumar as Telangana State Planning Board vice chairman, despite the latter’s defeat in the Lok Sabha polls. He stated that unlike Revanth Reddy who aimed a gun at Telangana agitators, he fought for Statehood and under Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership, made efforts to convince 32 political parties for the State’s formation. He reaffirmed his commitment to the Telangana movement and his role in securing the State’s development.
