Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan Kumar criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing him of mortgaging Telangana’s future by recklessly pushing the State into unsustainable debt. He said that the Congress regime was not building Telangana, but selling it off piece by piece.
The BRS MLC’s remarks came after the Congress government revealed plans to raise Rs 9,000 crore through open market borrowings in the October-December quarter. According to the RBI’s indicative calendar of market borrowings, the State will borrow Rs 2,000 crore each in October and November, and Rs 5,000 crore in December.
“Instead of attracting investments or creating jobs, this government is selling the State’s future. No wealth creation, no development. Only debt, drama, destruction and deception,” Sravan said. He stated that Telangana needs visionary statesmen, not irresponsible salesmen. He warned that unchecked borrowing without productive investment could push the State into a prolonged financial crisis. “This government runs on loans, not leadership,” he added.
