Hyderabad: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy on Monday predicted that Assembly elections in the State would be held six months before completion of the TRS government’s current term.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, Revanth Reddy charged that along with Gujarat government, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao would go for early polls at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“All this is part of a conspiracy to strengthen BJP in Telangana,” accused Revanth Reddy. The Chief Minister deliberately announced that there would not be early polls in the State only to ensure there were no disturbances in the TRS party, he alleged.
Earlier, former Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah appealed to the Huzurabad constituency voters to teach a lesson to both the BJP and the TRS parties in the by-poll by extending their support to the Congress candidate. “In the past seven years, both the Central and State governments failed in ensuring development of Telangana. Fuel prices are escalating and minimum support price was not being extended to the farmers,” he said, at the Gandhi Bhavan here.
