Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy demanded the union Government to hold an immediate special session of the Parliament on 33 per cent women reservation in the Legislative Bodies.

The Chief Minister paid tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on the death anniversary on Thursday.

Addressing on the occasion, he said that the INDIA Alliance was ready to support woman reservation bill in the Parliament.

The Chief Minister emphasized that women reservation in the legislative bodies should be enacted with the inspiration of Rajiv Gandhi who introduced women quota in local bodies for their political empowerment.

“The union government should stop politicising the women reservation bill,” Revanth Reddy said.

The Chief Minister remembered the services rendered by the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who introduced information technology to the nation and earned it global recognition.

Telangana was maintaining an inseparable bond with the Gandhi family. The relationship between the Gandhi family and Telangana people was more than a family, he added.
