Hyderabad: Admitting that there would be a triangular contest in the municipal elections, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday said he had not yet made any calculations on the probable results.

This was after he claimed that all his calculations and predictions during the Assembly and Parliament elections had turned out to be correct. When asked about the outcome of the municipal elections, Revanth Reddy said he had not yet done any assessment of the likely results.

During an informal interaction with media persons here, the Chief Minister said that if any alliance had to be stitched together after the results, the responsibility would be entrusted to the local leadership. Referring to the verbal duel between the Congress and the BJP over the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, he said the CBI should initiate proceedings. If the CBI refused to take up the case, the State government would have to step in, he added.

“Not just the Kaleshwaram case, we will offer the Power Purchase Agreement case also to the CBI. Let them take up the case,” Revanth Reddy said.

After having earlier trained his guns at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to accord national project status to the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, the Chief Minister on Monday tried to defend his reference to Modi as his ‘Bade Bhai’. “For all the Chief Ministers in the country, he is Bade Bhai,” he claimed.

On the reported district reorganisation plans, the Chief Minister said the Centre had issued specific instructions to all State governments. Accordingly, from January 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027, there would be no scope for making any changes, he said, claiming that the Congress had no political interests in the exercise.

The Centre would take up the population census, including caste census, followed by delimitation of Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies, an increase in the number of constituencies and the implementation of One Nation One Election in 2029, he added.
