Hyderabad: Backing the Central government’s decision to deny permission to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s US tour, the State BJP has demanded that he disclose the reasons for his proposed meeting with New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

The Ministry of External Affairs’ decision to deny permission for Revanth Reddy’s US visit was appropriate. It was now evident that the trip was planned specifically to meet representatives of anti-India forces and individuals who serve as ideological mentors to Rahul Gandhi, BJP State president Ramchander Rao charged.

In a statement, Rao asked why, although a meeting with Zohran Mamdani was part of the proposed itinerary, the details were omitted from the official schedule.

“In the UK, he shared the stage with Maya Tudor and Faisal Devji of Oxford University, who had written anti-India articles. In the USA, he wanted to meet Zohran Mamdani. What business does Revanth Reddy have in meeting them? People are demanding answers,” Rao said on X.
