Hyderabad: After the nomination filing for Gram Panchayat elections commenced, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s district tour from December 1 has triggered debates in political circles.
As part of the ‘Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu’, the Chief Minister is likely to tour Mahabubnagar (Makthal) on December 1, Khammam (Kothagudem) on December 2, Karimnagar (Husnabad) on December 3, Adilabad on December 4, Narsampet on December 5 and Nalgonda (Devarakonda) on December 6.
During the tour, the Chief Minister is expected to address public meetings and participate in several developmental programmes. This tour bears political significance as the panchayat election notification is already issued.
However, the Congress party leaders are defending the Chief Minister’s tour stating that it has nothing to do with the panchayat elections. During the tour, all the programmes would be conducted in urban areas and confined to ULBs, they added.
