Hyderabad: Guess what! We have a new Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) for the Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

What raised quite a few eyebrows among political circles is the inclusion of a certain R Uday Simha in the capacity of the CPRO for CM in the government delegation that attended the recent World Economic Forum (WEF) meetings in Davos.

Incidentally, it is the same Uday Simha, who is one of the accused persons in the vote for cash scam, who is now listed as the “CPRO to CM” and accompanied Revanth Reddy to Davos.

It is a well known fact that Uday Simha is a close confidante of the Chief Minister, but his inclusion in the government delegation is defying logic. Uday Simha, a civil contractor, figures as one of the prime accused persons in the case registered by Enforcement Directorate.

However, soon after Revanth Reddy took charge as the new Chief Minister in December 2023, B Ayodhya Reddy was appointed as the CPRO and it is unclear as to how Uday Simha is designated as the CPRO and included in the government delegation. If indeed, he was appointed as the CPRO, it was not in the public realm.

The inclusion of Uday Simha in the govenment delegation came to light in a reply to an RTI application, As per the written answer given, Telangana goenemnt team was the biggest when compared to other states. While Telangana team consisted of 18 delegates, Maharasthra – 12, Andhra Pradesh -10, Kerala – 7 and Uttar Pradesh – 9.
