Hyderabad: A day after the Constitution Amendment Bill linked to delimitation failed in the Lok Sabha, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy attended a breakfast meeting hosted by union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma in New Delhi on Saturday. The meeting has sparked speculation in political circles.
Several leaders from the NDA and other parties were present. Those who attended included union Minister HD Kumaraswamy, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu, union Minister of State Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, BJP Rajya Sabha MP K Laxman, Lok Sabha MP CM Ramesh, and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Speaker K Raghurama Krishna Raju.
Revanth Reddy’s interaction with leaders from the Telugu Desam Party drew attention. Observers noted the cordial exchanges, which raised questions in political circles. When photographers tried to capture images, the Chief Minister appeared cautious and asked them not to do so.
Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma described the meeting as informal. He said it was a routine gathering with no political agenda. He also stated that the Telangana government was focusing on making Hyderabad a clean and green city. The union government has already sanctioned electric buses for the city, but they are yet to be released. Revanth Reddy urged the Centre to expedite their rollout, he said according to reports.
Despite the clarification, the timing of the meeting has added to the speculation. It came soon after the failure of the Constitution Amendment Bill on delimitation and a union Cabinet meeting in the national capital. This has led to increased political interest in the interaction.
