Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Tuesday instructed the revenue officials to extend hassle free registration and mutation services through Dharani portal to the citizens as envisioned by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

He appealed to the revenue staff to live up to the expectations of the Chief Minister in the successful implementation of Dharani portal by providing services in a simple, transparent, and speedy manner without any discretionary powers. He said that under the portal, registration and mutation will be completed immediately. Dharani would become a trend-setter in the country, he said.

Addressing a training programme of officials and staff of the revenue and registration departments on Dharani here, Somesh Kumar said the Chief Minister will launch Dharani on October 29. Through a power-point presentation on the functioning of the portal, he explained slot booking, citizen open portal, successor modules and partition modules. The roles and responsibilities of Tahsildars and data entry operators were also explained in detail.

The Chief Secretary observed that the role of the revenue department would increase manifold as they would henceforth function as joint sub registrars. He urged the revenue employees to work as a team and bring good name to the government. The government, he said, was committed to resolve issues pertaining to the Revenue department.

He said that a State level control room will be set up to address technical issues. Similarly, a district level technical support team would resolve issues arising at the district level. Necessary infrastructure should be in place at all the offices for the purpose, he added.

Sunil Sharma Principal Secretary Roads and Buildings, Rahul Bojja Secretary Disaster Management, V Venkateswarlu Collector Medchal Malkajgiri and other officials attended the meeting.
