Nirmal: Telangana Student Association RGUKT-Basar unit president Akash Yadav opined that it was unfair for the State government to grab lands belonging to the University of Hyderabad and to handover the assets to private persons.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Akash asserted that the universities were not land banks. He said that the association was strongly condemning the move of the government to auction 400 acres of the university. He observed that it would affect both the autonomous status of the institution and environment.

He added that deploying heavy police force to contain agitating students was an unacceptable act of the government.
