Rich tributes paid to Babu Jagjivan Ram in Nalgonda
Stating that Jagjivan Ram was also a social reformer and freedom fighter, the Minister said he fought against caste discrimination and worked to create awareness among the people on blind beliefs.

Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Monday said following the principles of late Babu Jagjivan Ram, who dreamt of a caste-free society, would be the real tributes to the latter.
Speaking after paying floral tributes to the statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram near the new bus stand in Suryapet on the occasion of his birth anniversary, Jagadish Reddy said Jagjivan Ram always strove for caste-free society in the country during his entire life. He opined that the present generation has the responsibility to take forward the principles of Babu Jagjivan Ram.
Stating that Jagjivan Ram was also a social reformer and freedom fighter, the Minister said he fought against caste discrimination and worked to create awareness among the people on blind beliefs.
Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav and Suryapet Zilla Parishad chairman Deepika Yugender Rao were among those who paid tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram.
In Nalgonda, the district Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil garlanded the statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram located at NG College and paid rich tributes to him.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that Babu Jagjivan Ram played a crucial role in the “Nava Bharath Nirman” and development of the country. He worked for believed principles until his last breath. He reminded that Jagjivan Ram also worked for the uplift of downtrodden sections.
