Leaders paying tributes to Prof K Jayashanker on his birth anniversary in Khammam on Friday.
Hyderabad: Rich tributes were paid to Telangana ideologue professor K Jayashankar on his 87th birth anniversary on Friday by Ministers, legislators, educationists, administrators and others across the State.
Sharing the image of Professor Jayashankar, Industries Minister and TRS working president KT Rama Rao tweeted “Tributes to a man, who I greatly admire”
In Telangana Bhavan at New Delhi, Members of Parliament B Prakash, BB Patil, M Kavitha, B Lingaiah Yadav, P Dayakar offered floral tributes to the portrait of the professor. Home Minister Mohd. Mahmood Ali and MLA Balka Suman and others offered tributes to the professor by garlanding his statue here at Telangana Bhavan.
After garlanding the statue of the professor at Hanamkonda, Panchayat Raj Minister E Dayakar Rao recalled the yeomen services rendered by the Professor during the separate Telangana movement.
Roads and Buildings Minister V Prashanth Reddy paid tributes to the professor at his camp office here and said Telangana Government was striving hard for the development of all sectors in the State as dreamt by the professor.
Garlanding the professor’s statue in Mahabubnagar, Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud said professor Jayashankar had played a crucial role in the separate Telangana movement and will remain in the people’s hearts forever.
Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy also paid floral tributes and recalled the services rendered by the professor.
TPCC president A Revanth Reddy tweeted, “Heartfelt tributes to our beloved professor Jayashankar garu on his birth anniversary. His contribution for separate Statehood for Telangana will always be remembered”
PJTSAU Vice Chancellor Dr V Praveen Rao tweeted “Along with university officers paid floral tributes to Sri Professor Jayashankar on his birth anniversary. Special programmes were organised to pay tributes at BR Ambedkar Open University, Osmania University, Palamuru University and other universities.
At Aranya Bhavan here in the city, forest department officials offered tributes to the professor and similar programmes were organized in other government departments across the State.

Khammam: Leaders of different political parties and officials in erstwhile Khammam paid rich tributes to Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashanker marking his birth anniversary on Friday. At a programme conducted at the TRS district headquarters in Khammam, MLC B Lakshminarayana, SUDA Chairman Bachu Vijay Kumar, Mayor P Neeraja, Deputy Mayor Fatima Zohara and district party office in-charge Gundala Krishna offered floral tributes to Prof Jayashanker.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders recalled the Jayashanker’s contributions to the Telangana statehood movement and said he had inspired the Telangana movement by his teachings as he dedicated all his life to achieving Telangana State.
The TRS government was implementing several schemes to fulfil the aspirations of Prof Jayashankar. All the communities in the State have been achieving self-sufficiency with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s pro-poor approach. The State was witnessing development in all fields and competing with other States in the country in terms of development. The government has been constructing irrigation projects like Kaleshwaram to irrigate lands in Telangana, they said.
District Collector VP Gautham garlanded Prof Jayashanker’s statue at Dhamsalapuram flyover and said his contributions to the cause of separate Telangana would always remain in the hearts of the people.
At a programme in Kothagudem, the District Library Chairman Dindigala Rajender paid homage to the Telangana ideologue who worked hard all his life for the cause of Telangana. His teachings and books have inspired the younger generation, he added.
