Nirmal: Rich tributes were paid to renowned Mathematician Srinivas Ramanujan at the National Mathematic Day observed here on Wednesday. District Sectoral Officer Safdar Ali Khan was the chief guest at the event along with District Science Officer S Madhu Babu.
Ali said that the inventions of Ramanujan were unforgettable and his contributions to the subject were matchless. He recalled that the mathematician developed a penchant for studying mathematic during his childhood. He told them to love it in order to excel in it. He opined that it was one of the easiest subjects to study.
In the meantime, headmaster of government high school Devaji paid floral tributes to Ramanujan by garlanding his statue in Kaghaznagar. He handed over gifts to winners of a mathematics quiz organized to mark the national mathematics day. Teachers P Chandrasekahr, A Sagar and Shyamrao and Venu Jangu were present.
